It was a great first two days of school last week.  KING 5 News and Washington State Superintendent Chris Reykdal visited Lincoln last Thursday.  Our ASB, JROTC, and drum line welcomed students before school and help students find where their classes are located.

Closed Campus

Lincoln is a closed campus as is every Tacoma high school this year.  It helps our school with safety and ensures students are in in classes learning.  Thank you for helping reinforce the importance of being in class on time.

Tacoma Flex

Through a new program called Tacoma Flex, our students can increase the flexibility in their schedule starting by taking two classes online, in addition to completing the rest of their classes in person.

Students can work with their school counselors to enroll in Tacoma Flex. The deadline to enroll is Sept. 21.

Attending a high school event?
If you’re planning to attend an event at Lincoln Bowl, Stadium Bowl, or Mount Tahoma Stadium, please note we have some new regulations in place this year, which allow spectators to bring in bags and single-serve snacks and drinks.

Late start Wednesdays start this week
It was so good to see everyone last week and get back to the work we love of building relationships with students and helping them learn.

Here’s a friendly schedule reminder: The first late start is this Wednesday, Sept. 14. School will start one hour later.

Attendance matters
I also wanted to share that when students miss school regularly, they can start to fall behind. Even missing one or two days every few weeks can make a difference. Getting to school on time and attending regularly helps students feel better about school—and themselves. Let’s work together to build the habit of good school attendance this year, which will build the foundation for a great school year.
