Week of Sept. 26: Lincoln's Latest Newsletter
principal and mayor woodwards

Good Evening Lincoln Families!

I had the pleasure of meeting Tacoma’s Mayor, Victoria Woodards on Saturday.  Mayor Woodards is a PROUD Lincoln grad.  I’ve loved talking to many different generations of Abes these past few months and hearing the pride in their voices as they share stories of their time at Lincoln.  I’m so grateful to be connected to a school with so much history, tradition, and diversity!

Go Abes!

Highlights from this week

  • Our cross-country teams competed at Enumclaw on Wednesday vs. Enumclaw, Foss, Bonney Lake and Washington.  Every single Abe athlete ran a personal best time!  Jonathan Najera-Martinez had the fastest time at the entire meet!  This is the second week in a row Jonathan has come in 1st place overall (Jonathan won the all-city meet vs. Tacoma schools the week before)!
  • We had two Abes selected as Student School Board Representatives, Amanda Peterson and Zalicia DeLeon!  We are the only school in the district with two student representatives!
  • We found out last week that junior Navarre Dixon was honored as the News Tribune’s Athlete of the Week for his performance vs. in the football team’s 42-28 win vs. 4A Camas!

Open House Thursday, October 6 from 5:30-7:00 p.m.

This will be a “meet and greet” format where you can meet your student’s teachers and other staff members.  It will be a good opportunity to schedule conferences for October 13th and 14th.

Picture Day—Take Two

If your student did not get pictures taken on Picture Day last Wednesday, Ms. Dailey will be calling down specific students on Monday, September 26th.  This in NOT Picture Retake Day.  That will occur on November 8th.  This is only for students that never took a picture on September 21st.

Free tutoring service

We’re offering a new service for students in grades 3-12 that allows them to get free tutoring seven days a week from Tutor.com.

They can get live tutoring, paper review, math question drop off, and SAT/ACT preparation.

Students access the service through their Schoology account. Families can watch a demonstration of the service here. Take a look!

Please note only select families will receive the survey.
