Highlights from Last Week

We had our first indoor pep assembly since 2019!  The drumline performed, cheerleaders performed, and clubs were introduced! 

Many students signed up to participate in clubs during our “club fair” at lunches.

Our girls' swimming team defeated Mt Tahoma 94 – 20 on Thursday.  The relay team of Elizabeth García Tapale, Alicia Rivera, Karina López Pacheco, and Gia Chinn qualified for the district meet in both the 200 medley relay and the 200 free relay!

All three of our volleyball teams won on Thursday at South Kitsap!  Our varsity improved to 4-0 on the season!

Our boys tennis team won on Tuesday against Mt. Tahoma 3-2!

Our football team won on Friday against Camas, 42-28 improving to 3-0 on the season!  Gabarri Johnson rushed for 273 yards and 2 TDs and Navarre Dixson rushed for 214 yards and 2 TDs.

Picture Day Sept. 21

Picture day is this Wednesday, September 21st in the upper gym. Ms. Daley will make announcements releasing students to the upper gym by last name.

Seniors

Seniors will receive an appointment to meet individually with their counselor to discuss graduation requirements will begin September 19th.  Appointments are pre-booked, and the pass will be given out during their English course.

Tardy Slips Starting This Week

As we continue to emphasize safety and academic achievement, we’ll be returning to students filling out a tardy slip if they enter class after the bell.  There will be reflection and classroom consequence for tardies 1-4.  After the 4th tardy, students will be referred to the main office where the students will work with administration. 

Tacoma Flex Enrollment

This is the last week students can register for Tacoma Flex, which allows students to take two of their classes online at the beginning or end of the school day. 
Students can work with their school counselors to enroll in Tacoma Flex. The deadline to enroll is Sept. 21.

Masks

Masks are required in the nurse’s office.  If a student doesn’t have a mask, a mask will be provided.

For safety purposes and to ensure we’re able to accurately identify an individual is a Lincoln student, ski masks and balaclava masks are not permitted at school.

College Fair at TCC Sept. 28

I wanted to let you know about a great opportunity for our juniors and seniors. Tacoma Community College is hosting a free college fair with representatives from more than 50 colleges and universities. It’s a chance for students to learn more about college, their admission processes and areas of study.

•    Where: Tacoma College Community, 6501 S 19th St., Tacoma (in the gym, building 20)
•    When: Wednesday, Sept. 28, from 5:30-7:30 p.m.

Pandemic EBT information

Many Tacoma Public Schools families have recently received or will receive a summer pandemic EBT card in the mail. P-EBT benefits can be used like a debit card to buy food in most grocery stores.

Eligible families get their benefits on a P-EBT card in the mail automatically, or their benefits are automatically added to their existing card.
