New sports facilities open at Lincoln High

Construction has wrapped up at Lincoln High School athletic fields, unveiling the new baseball and fastpitch fields, and tennis courts just in time for the spring season.

Students will use the improved facilities for the first time on Feb. 26.

"We're thrilled to see these enhancements come to fruition," remarked Lincoln Principal Karl Hoseth. "It's been a journey of patience and collaboration, and we're immensely grateful to everyone involved for their support and understanding."

The renovations include baseball and fastpitch fields, eight tennis courts, restrooms, dugouts, batting cages, and various facilities and infrastructure just north of the bowl. The ballfields and play area are synthetic turf to provide year-round use.

"We're planning a special ceremony to mark the occasion and celebrate the hard work that has gone into making this vision a reality," Principal Hoseth continued. "It's a momentous occasion for our school.”

These improvements are part of the 2020 bond measure to replace aging neighborhood schools and make needed upgrades across the school district.
